Attending to the body and what exceeds language.
For anxiety, overwhelm, trauma and periods of transition.
Understanding often arrives long before change does. The distance between the two is where this work happens.
Kia Ora, I’m a somatic therapist based in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland, offering a body-based, experiential approach to therapy.
Many people come to therapy already knowing why they feel the way they do, yet still find themselves caught in the same emotional or physiological patterns. Understanding can be important, but it doesn’t create change on its own.
Together, we work with your nervous system through attention, sensation, and direct experience. Sessions are collaborative and attentive to what emerges through your body. Rather than pushing for insight or quick solutions, we create the conditions for change to unfold at a pace that feels sustainable.
Over time, people often notice a greater capacity to stay present with difficult emotions, less reactivity, and a deeper sense of connection with themselves; their instincts, creativity, relationships, and sense of agency in their lives.
If you’re curious about working together, I’d be open to hearing from you.
My approach is informed by Somatic Experiencing®, Embodied Processing, ongoing study in Lacanian psychoanalysis with the Clinical College of Psychoanalysis Aotearoa, and formal education in conceptual art.
These influences shape how I work: attending to language and what exceeds it, to the meanings we carry, and to the body’s subtle intelligence.
I’m interested in how experience is held not only in what we think and say, but also in sensation, movement, emotion, and the felt sense.
Together, these perspectives inform a way of listening that makes space for both what can be articulated and what may emerge through the body.
